w.e.i.g.h.t exists for women who struggle with the mental and relational impact of childhood trauma in adulthood. This group is designed to assist you with rediscovering and affirming your Christian identity in Jesus Christ. Its aim is to join you with others who also experience the often debilitating effects of trauma, and to assisting you with replacing negative and unhelpful thinking and coping strategies with Christ-centered coping strategies.

Women Enriched in God’s Heart and Truth (W.E.I.G.H.T)

why weight?

Because you’re worthy.

Adults who experience abuse as children often suffer from depression, anger, anxiety, physical health problems, sexual issues, and sensitivity in relationships and an estimated 400,000 females experience childhood trauma each year. You’re not alone. WEIGHT is designed to connect women with similar stories in a safe, secure and therapeutic environment. Get Christian counseling with others who have similar stories. WEIGHT helps you process trauma and learn new ways to cope. In just 10 weeks you may be able to reframe their thinking about the impact of your past experiences from a biblical perspective. WEIGHT has a deliberate focus on spiritual formation and Christian identity. The group was developed with a trauma-focus and all intervention and education are hand-selected and specifically designed by Davida Vaughn, LPC to ensure that you get closer to freedom in both your identity as a Christian woman, and from your past. The only known counseling group of it’s kind, WEIGHT combines clinical experience with research-supported, faith-based approaches to trauma recovery and mental health treatment.

your life as you know it is a response to your life as it was.

You’re not crazy. You’ve been responding to the past. Davida Vaughn, LPC honors that by providing a safe, carefully curated group of women motivated to find freedom from their past. WEIGHT is a safe place for you and others like you—online or in person— to explore how you’re still responding to your past pains, and help you discover new ways to live today.
