Therapy for us.

In the fast-paced world we live in, it's all too easy for relationships to fall into a pattern of neglect. Communication breakdowns, unresolved conflicts, and unmet emotional needs can erode even the strongest bonds. That's where relationship counseling comes in.

RELATIONSHIP COUNSELING

Davida Vaughn, LPC provides a safe and supportive space for couples to explore their issues, learn vital skills, and rebuild a foundation of trust and love. Relationship counseling is not just for couples on the verge of separation or for those who are in crisis. One of the most significant benefits of relationship counseling is the opportunity to establish and maintain emotional intimacy, no matter what stage of your relationship. As you reestablish open and honest communication, you'll learn to express your feelings and desires in a way that fosters connection rather than conflict. You'll uncover the underlying issues driving your relationship challenges and work together to create lasting and positive change. Through therapy, you and your partner will gain a deeper understanding of each other's needs, improve communication, and develop practical strategies for resolving conflict.

At Davida Vaughn, LPC, relationship therapy isn’t about behavior, it’s about bonding. Davida Vaughn, LPC doesn’t approach couples counseling from the standpoint of minimizing conflict or primarily addressing individual behavioral change. These are typical, solution-focused/cognitive-behavioral methods for helping couples achieve conflict resolution. Instead, Davida has specialized training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) a proven approach to relationship therapy. Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) stands as a well-established, attachment-focused, and evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, that places a central focus on emotions and how they influence relational interactions.

Davida Vaughn, LPC leverages the underlying principles of EFT to assist you with emotional access, understanding and engagement in meaningful ways.

Emotion - Focused Therapy Works

Research shows that EFT moves couples from distress to recovery in 70-75% of cases and in 90% of cases couples significantly improved.

eft: Form secure and loving bonds

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) encompasses remarkable benefits for both individuals and couples. At an individual level, EFT cultivates self-awareness, helping individuals attune to their emotions, needs, and patterns. This heightened self-awareness fosters personal growth, enhancing emotional regulation and resilience. Individuals learn to express and process their emotions in a healthy manner, leading to improved mental well-being and decreased distress.
In the context of couples, EFT facilitates profound transformations within the relationship. It enables partners to recognize and understand each other's emotional needs, fostering empathy and connection. By working through emotional blockages, EFT restores trust, enhances communication, and deepens intimacy. Couples experience improved relationship satisfaction and the resilience to face challenges together, ultimately creating a secure and loving bond. Check out this video to learn more about EFT.
